Backpacks 101 Project 2013!!

The Backpacks 101 Project for 2013 is underway! Since 2007,  we have been filling backpacks for children at Etobicoke shelters and in that time we have filled over 400 backpacks! This year, we are excited to hit the 500 mark! Our goal for 2013 will be to fill over 100 backpacks.
Donations have started coming in and we are thrilled to announce a donation from Scotiabank. Their financial contribution will make a huge difference in reaching our goal and making sure each bag has all the supplies kids need to start school. We have also received stainless steel water bottles from Fill Your Own, enough for all the bags!

This year, the bags will again go to Women's Habitat, Ernestine's Women's Shelter and Youth Without Shelter.

Donations can be dropped off at Muzart located at 225 The East Mall or at 3 Cardigan Road, Etobicoke. NOTE: Muzart summer hours M, W 1-5, T 2:30-6:30, Th 2-6.

A further announcement is that we have created a Backpacks 101 Team who will be participating in Habitat for Humanity's Women Build Project which will be building 6 homes for families in need of housing.  If you would like, you can make a donation to our team or a team member.
