It's almost back to school time!

We are almost there! In order to reach our goal, we still need more items especially supplies and backpacks for the youth in the Youth Without Shelter's Stay In School Program. Items such as USB sticks, calculators, combination locks, erasers, binders, white out and scissors are needed to give these kids a good start at school. Please check the sidebar to see what items are still needed.

All donations are appreciated and help to make this project a success. If you would like to make a donation please send us an email at info@backpacks101.org. You can also drop off donations at the Busy Genie Indoor Playground located at 4133 Dundas St.W.

Here are some comments from the shelters;

"Thank you again for thinking of EWS (Ernestine's Women's Shelter) and the women and children we service. We can’t thank you enough for helping to alleviate the stresses for the mothers to have back to school supplies for their children and you have helped insure the children and youth from EWS start the new school year in leveling the playing field and being just like everyone else with a new backpack."

Thank you so much,
Sharlene Tygesen
Director of Programs, HR and Community Relations

"The backpacks provide great assistance to both our youth and the organization since resources are limited"

Wendy Horton
YWS Executive Director.

"A lot of people who leave home to come to a shelter leave in a hurry and come with nothing. School supplies are very expensive. The backpacks are such a nice surprise for the kids."

Ursula Krubnik
Community Relations Coordinator
